The Story Behind ECSA
The European Customs Services Alliance (ECSA) was born out of a shared vision among independent customs service entrepreneurs. Many of our founding members have a background with larger pan-European and global customs brokers. As smaller, national customs brokers, our core services traditionally focused on customs declarations within local markets.
However, business is personal, and our relationships with former multi-national clients began to reveal a greater need—support for customs services across multiple countries. In early 2024, Ruben Herrijgers and Vidar Gundersen recognized this challenge and initiated discussions. Together, they envisioned a network that could provide independent, pan-European customs solutions.
